Student Help

If you are a student taking the SCI as part of a class, there are a couple of modifications to the 3 step procedure outlined above in the 'Login' section:

1. Test Name: You may not have been provided the name of your test. If not, the test name can be any name you like. Remember the name and password, as you will need them to access your test in the future.

2. Permission: After hitting the submit button from the Login page, you are taken to the Test page. A permission type is listed for the test, and can be one of the following: Account, Subject, Both. This permission indicates who has access to view the test or generate reports. If there is a discrepency between the permission type and your understanding, please contact the account holder.

3. Generate Report: As a student, you may have the permission to generate reports from your test. After hitting the submit button from the Login page, you can hit either the Generate Comprehensive Report, or Generate Research Report buttons. If you wish to print a copy of the report, please read the Printing section below.

Printing

If you are a student, or involved in research and have access to generate reports, you may wish to print a copy of a report. The reports generated on this website feature colored graphs. Most browsers will not display the background colors on these graphs by default. If you wish to display these colors, you can enable the browser to display them by changing the browser settings. On Internet Explorer, this would be found by selecting the 'Tools' menu at the top of the browser. From here go to 'Internet Options'. Next select 'Advanced'. Scroll down to 'Printing', and check the 'Print background colors and images' checkbox.

Also, this website uses 'frames' to separate the main page from the top header and the menu selections on the left. When printing, you may need to check the printing options, and select 'Only the Selected Frame' instead of 'As laid out on screen'.

Resources

Extensive resources are available on the ControlResearch.net informational site. There you will find information pertaining to the SCI, Control Therapy and Grants and Funding options for research and training.

Researchers: Additional documentation, background, reliability and validity studies about the SCI can be found by downloading the SCI Manual. In addition, for researchers doing a control therapy research project, the control therapy training manual offers 'standardized' procedures necessary for the treatment research to be replicated. To download, select the CT Training Manual link.

Clinicians: The best resources for control therapy are the CT Training Manual and the original book 'Control Therapy: An Integrated Approach to Psychotherapy, Health, and Healing', available for download.

Educators: Please see the Control Therapy Training Manual link, CT Training Manual, for a guide for training instructions in the use of Control Therapy. Additional documentation, background, reliability and validity studies about the SCI can be found by downloading the SCI Manual.

Control Research Foundation Fund Seed Grants: There is seed grant money available to help graduate students doing work on control and control therapy. For information, please visit the Grants & Funding link.
